What engine was used on the K-Wagen?

I've been trying to research more about the K-Wagen lately, and I've found it quite troubling trying to dig up what engines were planned on being used for it. Sources tend to agree that two "Daimler-Benz diesel 6-cylinder producing 650 hp each for a combined total of 1,300 hp" engines were used, but I've been struggling to find exactly what engine it was which existed at this time that matches that criteria and existed at the time. The closest I've gotten was an engine called the Mercedes D.IVa, but said engine was designed for aircraft and only produced 252 hp.

I'm hoping that with what we find we'll be able to make a lot of the mysteries of the K-Wagen a bit less mysterious, and bit by bit uncover more details. On a side note, does anyone have any data on the K-Wagens that were under construction? It would be fascinating if we actually got to find out what really happened, how long it took, how they came up with the name "Ribe" for one of the vehicles, how close they got to test trials, etc.

You already know this but here is what I have. the K-Wagen was powered by two glycerine-cooled Daimler-Benz 6-cylinder naval diesel engines, each capable of producing 650 hp, totalling 1300 hp, the same information you have, but maybe look in the direction of naval engines.

All the best
