Progress on my Airfix Mk 1-for the group build

Hi,

For some reason, I couldn't post images, so I have to link to my post on Missing-lynx. Hope that's ok.

Cheers,

Damn nice work there, All Highest (or will Your Majesty do?)!

Good job on the tail wheel frame, I wish I'd replaced the axle as you did. Unlike you, I didn't bother widening the cab in the end... (tut tut)

What colour scheme will you use?

That looks like a real improvement over the original kit. I am also curious about which colour scheme it will finish in.

First of all; thank you all for the kind words.

Roger Todd; "your majesty" will do just fine, thank you.

As to what tank and camouflage I'm going to do, I'm not sure yet...I'm leaning towards the tank in the famous photo (C7, or something like that?) moving up towards Thiepval, with curious british troops in a trench next to it. Any suggestions/recommendations on Tamiya-colours for the camo would be most welcome. I was going for Flat earth, dark yellow, hull red and some flat black, but any suggestions/corrections are welcome.

Cheers,
/Jochen.

Nice work Jochen. Replacing the tail axle is a real improvement. The tanks of A and C Company (except for C1-6) carried the grenade roofs, and I believe it is C15 in the famous Thiepval photo. Could I suggest adding another truss to the grenade roof, and some extensions over the sponsons? The cross beam on the front truss rests directly on the cab roof, and the rearmost truss should not have a support strut. Your proposed colours sound resonable, perhaps with the addition of some grey blotches.

Thank you Rhomboid, and yes indeed it is the C15 I'm doing.

Grey blotches ey...sounds good. Good call!

I have now removed the rearward strut...but, forgive my ignorance, I can for the life of me not figure out what "struss" means, or what the word refers to!

My apologies, Jochen. By "truss" I am referring to the inverted V shaped frames constructed from wooden beams. The grenade roof should have five of these frames.

Oh, I've missed that! I will correct it, thank you.
