BIG article on the Flying Tank now posted
Permalink

Gentlemen!

Just wanted to let you know, that I've just posted a BIG article by Roger Todd, on the forgotten British super-heavy Tank design, the so called "Flying Elephant".

I dare to say that this is the definitive treatment of this very interesting design, in any media.

It comes with a number of very fine plans, also made by Roger.

Thank you Roger! (Also thanks to Eugene Sautin, who has also participated in researching this interesting topic.)

That is an incredible article!!!

Most assuredly the best piece of literature and documentation available on that vehicle. The plans are amazing too!

Excellent work to all involved!

Jolly good article, and on a tank I really wanted to know more about.
Cheers, and hope to see more from you

I did make a small error in HTML-ing the first article, in one place using the wrong plan. Now this has been corrected. So notice that you now get a plan of the so called Flotilla leader as well!

Again: super work Roger!!!

Cheers chaps, glad you like it. And thank you to Eugene and Tim for their constructive comments as I was writing and drawing plans.

I'll be publishing an article based on the same material in the Royal Tank Regiment journal 'Tank', hopefully next spring. This will feature reproductions of the original plans of the Flotilla Leader and Foster's Battletank, as I was only able to obtain clearance for their publication in 'Tank' from the copyright holders.
