Found this picture, I don't think it is a gun/mortar. Could it be a dummy weapon or is it a sort of periscope/camera (equal the "fernkamera")? What is the origin country of this thing (Germany?) Tks, DJ
In WW1 the Canadian Machine Gun Corps had two Motor Machine Gun Brigades that used Armoured Autocars made in Anmore Penn. USA.
These 20 cars , actually truck frames with armoured plateing surrounding two Vickers Machine Guns were used to great success .
Has anyone ever made a model or concidered...
The fantastic little 1/72 3-ton tank that Hans showed us here a little while ago, is now available from Tracks and Troops: http://www.tracks-n-troops.eu/shop/ and probably from Black Lion Decals as well, although they haven't updated their list to show it yet: http://www.blackliondecals.nl/...

? New article on Landships II - Turkish fortress guns used at Beersheba. Fortress guns These guns seem to have built by the Ottomans out of old recycled guns. Regards, Charlie
Thought I would put these on. Pictures of Pete Wilsons 009 layout. A full description of his layout is in the latest issue of NG&Industrial. Great stuff.
I am going to paint?some of my?HaT British artillery crew set?as Americans to go with? a 75mm gun. ?I do like the idea of crews in sleeves rather than?in full uniform. The painting of the gun is no problem thanks to Ralph Lovett's excellent site. The problem arises with the crew. Can anyone out there sug...
Have just read the updated edition of this book. First, the good news: The appendix includes an A5 page of small but excellent drawings of machines built by Fosters, from the traction engine to the Medium Mk C, including the Big Wheel, Foster-Daimler, Trench Crosser, Little Willie, Flying Elephant...
Hi all, ? Does anyone know where I may obtain a copy of 1/4 scale plans of the FT 17 that would be suitable as reference to build a 1/4 scale model? ? Thanks ? Tanks3
Gentelman, I have aquired a photo album of approx 125 photo postcards and live shots of the tank trials that were conducted in Panama in the early 1920's of the Mkv111(liberty) and the Renault. The army had built a tank park at Corazal and begain testing the capaabilities of these babies in the jungle!...
Googled this: It is said to be a "Vemorel copper tank sprayer", used in WW1 trenches. Was it really used in trenches during WW1 (photo looks to "clean" to me and the two guys are posing for advertising vemorel tanks I think)? If yes I suppose it was used as insecticide sprayer? DJ
Don't know why I haven't noticed this before, but several accounts (inc. D. Fletcher) say that the Mk VIII could easily "accommodate up to twenty infantrymen as passengers" in addition to the crew, which was 10. In a space about 8 foot square? Surely that can't be right. Or have I missed som...
Did the Crane/Salvage Tank variant of the Gun Carrier Mk 1 take any part in the Battle of Cambrai in 1917? ?I know that at least one was moved up before the attack but I can't recall seeing any reference to it being used. ? Also I assume its purpose was to recover broken-down or damaged tanks but, again, I ca...
I have been working on a 1 35 th scale?A7V, Wotan.? I scratch built a replica interior and finished the camo, decals, and filter application to the exterior.? I am ready to apply my wash.? My question, would it be beneficial to air brush another satin varnish over my filters before I do the wash? Respect...
A strange french tank/armord car that doesnt seem to get much attention. The problem is is that all the info i can find on it is from wikipedia, so did this thing even exsist??
A U.S. film that is highly implausible in almost every respect. A young woman disguises herself as a man and follows her fianc?? into the trenches during World War I to find out what war is really like. After 30 mins, an attack by Mk VIIIs succeeds, despite opposition from Germans using drums of a flamma...
Hi everybody, the wagon on the picture, was that a standard army issue or a product made behind the lines? I read somewhere that the Signal Corps of the British was set up in the 20's. If that's so, how were communications organised before, did every company had its own unit? And, as armies everywhere ha...

Anyone have any interest in bo-ats, or just in landships? I ask because I've just found out very simple details of an Italian WW1 MAS boat named Grillo and wondered if anyone knows any more about it. I first saw an illustration of the thing some years ago on the dust jacket of a seventies book about the war...
