Hello chaps I'm afraid I don't have any pictures yet, but I have now got my hands on some of the new Highlanders from HaT. I have to say that they are very nice figures, well proportioned and they are painting up well. Better still, they mix in really nicely with the IT Minatures Scots too especially their...

For the Emhar 1/35 Mark IV tanks I wanted to cut off the plastic shafts on the machine guns and fit hollow tubing in their place, along with another tube inside for the gun barrel, which would add tremendously to the realism.? Anyone else tried it yet, and if so, how did they do it?
Anyone know how the rounded angle iron?frame of the outside plates at the sprockets? each end of the tank are formed and made, seems to be quite a tricky task for a modeler making one of these tanks in a metal construction. ?Are there any books devoted showing the constuction of these tanks at the factor...
Reading the book Beute tanks volume 1,(very good book)?there is mention about the British tanks Mk IVs painted in a brown colour that looks like the results from a babies nappy. The book mentions that there is only one tank left in Belgium a Mk IV L47 Lodestar that has its original colour in this brown. I...
Attched is photo of Queen Mary (not well camouflaged) visiting the Front in 1917. You will note that arrangements have been made to prevent Her Majesty's shoes from becoming soiled. I can't make out the object on the right. It looks like something armoured. Is it a Schneider? If not, what?
Sorry, no painted images yet... I'm still trying to re grow my eyes after getting this far,?1/72nd isn't my normal scale, but I couldnt pass up this little beauty at a swap meet recently, I figured after scratch building one in 1/35th that this would be easy?... I wont be making that mistake again... As...

Hello All, Here is my first post on this forum. I have found the Landships site quite helpful, but need some "straight"opinions from the modelling members here. So I've joined up. I see the Airfix Mk1 tank, while having some accuracy issues, can be made the basis of a decent collection of Br...
Ok, very muddled information... I just got the "British AFVs: 1919/1940" book, and I have been cross-checking information on the Martel tankettes through a few books. My conclusion is that a fair part of the information about these tankettes in general must be wrong. I am even hesitant where to begi...
Ok folks, I got my photo reproductions from Bovington, and with a lot of help from David Fletcher, we now know a lot more about these vehicles. ----------- The first production type of the Carden-Loyd was called the Mark V, and the main production type the mark VI, but apart from the books by Chamberlai...
A silly question, perhaps, but one that has puzzled me. Why did the RFA and RHA carry ammunition bandoliers around their necks, as in the photo below: What did they carry in them pouches? It's not like they can fit a...
I'm doing a scratch built RR AC, in my travels through the internet I see the rear doors devided in half, some are devided about a quarter of the way up. I want to do as early a version as possibly. ? Does anybody know why and when the doors were devided and which came first or were the first versions just soli...
Hi gents Considering that most probably no plans of German WW I Tractors have survived until that day, detail shots play an important role as reference material for the modeller.? Thanks to ebay,? we have luck that such a photo surfaces from time to time ... Here a recent and not too bad rear pic of an D?r...
Both these subjects have been raised in days gone by. Have managed to get a look at a copy of Easterly's improbably named The Belgian Rattlesnake, and it throws some light on the Lewis in Belgian and Russian hands. It doesn't clear everything up, but gets us a bit further forward. Lewis's first 4 protot...
?Reply?Quote??Edit Post? Hi there !?I just get a couple of the latest WWI artillery pieces from H?t, namely the 4.5 inch QF Howitzer and the Austro-Hungarian 7.5cm Gebirgskanone M.15. The kits are simple and look pretty nice. Of course they cry for detailing, but isn't it where the modelling pleasu...
The Panzermuseum at Munster indicates the gunsight used in the A7V was produced by Zeiss. Period photos of the vehicle's interior, however, seem to show a Goerz panoramic sight- in both cases the Sockellafette mount seems to have been used (as the Bocklafette relied on open sights). As Zeiss seemed...

Inspired by the plans by Roger Todd on Landships I'm planning to scratchbuild a model of the Fosters Battletank. Obviously there will be a little bit of "artistic license" involved - especially where the tail wheels are concerned. However there is one thing I've not been able to work out m...
Strelets have posted some more pics of their soon-to-be-released big guns. I'm very pleased to see they did not waste any of their budget on a Graphic Design artist: The other box art can be seen here: http://www.strelets-r.co...
