Seeing some railroad scenic models, I stumbled upon some nice vehicles in 1/87 with seemingly good spoked wheels. They are "Jordan Products Highway Miniatures" and there are several American cars and trucks and also some horse-drawn vehicles. Could these kits be a source for well cast...
I?am converting?a Emhar Mk V Female tank 1/35? scale to RC control. I have fitted all the motors and RC bits and bobs etc. Now's the hard part, the actual running gear is quite easy especially controlling the motor speed, i need to make a few rollers and new back and front sprockets, what i do need to work o...

I use Gimp, it is relatively easy to use and?is free! http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ I have attached screenshots to show how Curve can be used to lighten the dark areas of photos and having little or no effect on the light areas.??? Curve is found in the Colours menu. It is important to make a copy of th...

I understand the Fordson F tractor entered production in 1917 and was mass-produced by 1918. Wikipedia says that "By mid-1918, more than 6,000 Fordson tractors were in use in Britain, Canada, and the United States." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fordson_tractor Were any of these u...
Was surfing Google Books this evening and came acrossDie Geschichte Der Deutschen KFZ-Kennzeichen which lists German auto tags from roughly 1906 until the end of the Cold War.? There are a number of photos included.? Unfortunately, the entire book cannot be perused. ? Bosun Al

Does anyone know what the track plates on a Baby Holt looked like? I can't find a photo that's clear enough. The plates on the Schneider CA are very different from those on the 75hp Holt. Does that mean that the Baby was different from the 75 or that Schneider designed new plates when the running gear was m...
?I was given a 30MM barrel of an A10 Worthog gatling gun to produce two working black powder scale field guns out of. I personally favor the Krupp design but my benefactor has a strong aversion to the Germanic influence. ? An Ameican "screw gun" would be apropriate and the particular early f...
BRIGHTON, BRENTFORD AND BARHAM It started with a casual I have a cracking scenario for an early WWI game line from one of the members of the Like a Stonewall Wargames Group and spiralled into a whole project based around the RNAS on theWestern Front. Nick Buxey takes up the story. ? Interesting article...
Hello chaps I'm afraid I don't have any pictures yet, but I have now got my hands on some of the new Highlanders from HaT. I have to say that they are very nice figures, well proportioned and they are painting up well. Better still, they mix in really nicely with the IT Minatures Scots too especially their...

For the Emhar 1/35 Mark IV tanks I wanted to cut off the plastic shafts on the machine guns and fit hollow tubing in their place, along with another tube inside for the gun barrel, which would add tremendously to the realism.? Anyone else tried it yet, and if so, how did they do it?
Anyone know how the rounded angle iron?frame of the outside plates at the sprockets? each end of the tank are formed and made, seems to be quite a tricky task for a modeler making one of these tanks in a metal construction. ?Are there any books devoted showing the constuction of these tanks at the factor...
Reading the book Beute tanks volume 1,(very good book)?there is mention about the British tanks Mk IVs painted in a brown colour that looks like the results from a babies nappy. The book mentions that there is only one tank left in Belgium a Mk IV L47 Lodestar that has its original colour in this brown. I...
Attched is photo of Queen Mary (not well camouflaged) visiting the Front in 1917. You will note that arrangements have been made to prevent Her Majesty's shoes from becoming soiled. I can't make out the object on the right. It looks like something armoured. Is it a Schneider? If not, what?
Sorry, no painted images yet... I'm still trying to re grow my eyes after getting this far,?1/72nd isn't my normal scale, but I couldnt pass up this little beauty at a swap meet recently, I figured after scratch building one in 1/35th that this would be easy?... I wont be making that mistake again... As...

Hello All, Here is my first post on this forum. I have found the Landships site quite helpful, but need some "straight"opinions from the modelling members here. So I've joined up. I see the Airfix Mk1 tank, while having some accuracy issues, can be made the basis of a decent collection of Br...
Ok, very muddled information... I just got the "British AFVs: 1919/1940" book, and I have been cross-checking information on the Martel tankettes through a few books. My conclusion is that a fair part of the information about these tankettes in general must be wrong. I am even hesitant where to begi...
Ok folks, I got my photo reproductions from Bovington, and with a lot of help from David Fletcher, we now know a lot more about these vehicles. ----------- The first production type of the Carden-Loyd was called the Mark V, and the main production type the mark VI, but apart from the books by Chamberlai...
