Does anyone have any photos and information on WW1 Imperial Russian Chemical units, devices, masks, weapons, uniforms? I've looked around for a while and found nothing other than bloshevik use of gas during the Tambov Rebellion to liquidate "dissidents" in 1920.?
There weren't any. Can't find it now, but a while ago I raised the question of where the Holts used by A-H on the Western Front came from, since there didn't seem to be any reference to the KuK actually buying any. A possible answer was that they came from the fabled Holt factory in Budapest, the existence...
Questions and info about uniforms are all over the forum, mostly in the "individual weapons and tactics" and "miscellaneous" sections. A dedicated uniforms section could help finding information quicker. Just a suggestion.

Funny how all those modelling projects take soooo much longer when the sun's out... not that we saw too much of it this summer! Finally a couple of long term (that shouldn't have taken that long!) ? master projects have come to an end and I can get on with building some of my stash.? ? ? I've attached a bunch...
Most people here are probably familiar with the French Char FCM 2C, and I should imagine most also know about the one vehicle (Champagne) which was fitted with a 155mm howitzer for some years (though refitted with the original pattern 75mm gun in, I think, 1939), and which was designated Char FCM 2C Bi...
Well, maybe this tank?is well known, but it is a bit of mystery to me. I?ve found this shot on ebay. Recently I obtained another photo of the same vehicle, when I?ll get to scanner, I can post it as well. Photos were clearly taken in WWII, because there are WWII German soldiers around the tank on my picture...
As usual, apologies if this isn't new. Startled to see this pic on chars-fran?ais. WWIIGerman soldier (Luftwaffe?) in souvenir photo with cat and St. Chamond. I thought all vehicles were broken up, apart from the Aberdeen example. Anyone throw any light?
How do you get errors corrected on the Landships website?? I was just looking at the Mark IV walkaround and saw that Grit is captioned as 4543.? It's actually 4643.? Also Flirt II is captioned as 2179, which is what's painted on it today, but isn't its original number.? 2179 isn't even a Mark IV serial nu...
Dear all, my knowledge about French Renault FT-17 is still low, but maybe someone can help me to make it brighter. I know that the French Renault FT-17 in its various versions was used by several armies during World War 1 and more after the war and also a long time. As far as I know: France USA Spain Poland E...
Missing Lynx has a thread showing a WW1 tank in Berlin 1945. The photo is extremely dark and difficult to make out. I enclose a copy that I've applied some image enhancement on. It appears to be a female Mk V that has been very comprehensively totalled, presumably by a Soviet tank or AT gun. The las...

I don't know if this should be in "References" or "Modelling". But here it is. Please correct any errors in this statement: When Americans fought in WW1 they were segregated; the whites fought together, and the blacks (those that fought, and were not stevedores or other labou...

Hi I'm in the market for a few WW1 rifles and wondered whether any forum users could point me in the direction of (respectable) dealers or individuals with any for sale? All advice gratefully received. Thanks
PDA is too modest to bring this to your attention, but he and I have put together an article on Romanian uniforms. Very entertaining research and some surprising (to me) information. Please feel free to amend, add, correct, disagree, suggest, improve, etc. No offence will be taken. This isn't Wikip...
This is a very long audio recording of the reminiscences of Eric Potten. Eric featured briefly in the TV documentary Tanks: Wonder Weapons of World War One? This is a far longer version of his service, with lots of stuff about the Tanks. You have to hunt for the relevant bits because the total length is o...
