Hi All, In 2014 is starting the rememberance of beginning WW1 (We all knew already). Of course there will be a a lot of Military Parades and other activities in different regions. Would it be a ?good idea?to make on this site a list (somewhere)?of the different activities planned in the different regi...

another forum had a pic of a tank in New Barracks, Limerick with the number 10082. I think this is a Mk V* and would like to see if this is correct and if there is any more information available about this tank. Found another picture of the tank with a bit more to see http://mdonovan.free.fr/rwf/pages/2_...
Brand new here. I never knew there was a forum for WWI tanks. This site looks great! I'm really into WWI and model kits, mostly tanks and planes. Look forward to discussions!
This site contains some v. useful reference books on various Great War topics. Available in English and German. A bit of clicking around reveals some splendid stuff. http://www.militaria.at/Default.aspx This in particular is a cracking uniform guide: http://www.militaria.at/Book.aspx?b...
as some of you know, I am always interested in strange weapons, even when they came to nothing. And here is a tantalizing reference : From? Paul d'Ivoi 1907 novel "Miss Mousqueterr" it could be seen as pure SF but there is a note which suggests inspiration came from a real event . At the beginn...
A quick question, if anyone can spare a minute. On hard ground, roughly how much of the track length of the Mk I to V, the Whippet, and the Gun Carrier, was in contact? Thanking you in advance.
There was a lot of water on the western front, but static as it was not much bridge building, pontoons etc., apart from the early stages I guess. From the Italian/Austrian theatre there are a few more pictures and I think from the eastern front too. To start with the neutrals...a picture of a Dutch ponto...
This is the Hat model I built straight out of the box except for drilling out the gun barrel and adding the extra armor from strip styrene and hinges from .015 rod. The model is painted a Red Drab using Model Master paints in a mix of 2 parts Leather and 1 part Sand. A wash of Van Dyke Brown was used to bring out...
I'm new here. I got interested in WWI a few years ago. Before that I liked mostly Warhammer 40k and started reading up on WWI because some aspects of it were clearly inspired by it I have found WWI much more interesting.
Hello friends,I took some pics of the village of Rib?court. Just 3 buildings to complete, but I wanted to?know if the overal look was ok? What do you think 94 years ago the "real" tanks were ready to attack on the 20th of November. I hope next year around this time my dio is completed greetings...
Gingerian Ginger Tank Mk. III "Female", South Front 1917. When Santa Claus allied himself with the Central Powers in 1915, the battles that erupted on the North Pole soon deteriorated into static trench warfare. To deal with this, the Gingerian engineers aquired help from the British i...
Wanting to get an Anatra DS 1/72 scale. I found one from Emhar and another one from Red Star. Which one do you prefer? I did get the MK IV 1/72 scale from Emhar and like it alot.
I've been loitering on Landships for the last couple of months and thought I'd try a basic card model of a tank. Purpose of this post is hopefully to motivate someone else like me, to make a model too. There certainly are some stunning models to be seen on here, but the high quality stuff can make attempti...
Here's my take on a captured Mk. IV in German service. I wanted to 'germanize' it as much as possible, so I replaced the bow machine gun with a Tank Gewehr and added a top hatch to the driver's cab. I also replaced the unditching beams and the luggage storage area (?) to the top aft of the tank, as well as addi...
Hello all, I have been asked to write a short article on Woosung Forts in Shanghai, but I have very little knowledge of late 19th century coastal guns. In order not to make too many mistakes I would like to buy one or two books on coastal guns of this period. I need a book that is comprehensive and covers gun...
I just saw this movie today and it is really good. The W.W. I scenes are very authentic looking as well as the uniforms. If you have not seen it it is worth watching.
Nice pictures but I noticed there were none of the back of the tank.? Were none taken or did they somehow get lost?? I wanted one so I could build the rear of my Mark III correctly. Unfortunately the museum covered the top of the tank so I couldn't see the baffles.
I know "not the right period" But still a tank for rivet lovers! I finished the master just in time so that Jan Giesbers could have the first castings ready ?before Christmas. Would have like to have crisper detail on the enginedeck, I will pay more attention to this on my next model.? I am lea...
