I'm new here. I got interested in WWI a few years ago. Before that I liked mostly Warhammer 40k and started reading up on WWI because some aspects of it were clearly inspired by it I have found WWI much more interesting.
Hello friends,I took some pics of the village of Rib?court. Just 3 buildings to complete, but I wanted to?know if the overal look was ok? What do you think 94 years ago the "real" tanks were ready to attack on the 20th of November. I hope next year around this time my dio is completed greetings...
Gingerian Ginger Tank Mk. III "Female", South Front 1917. When Santa Claus allied himself with the Central Powers in 1915, the battles that erupted on the North Pole soon deteriorated into static trench warfare. To deal with this, the Gingerian engineers aquired help from the British i...
Wanting to get an Anatra DS 1/72 scale. I found one from Emhar and another one from Red Star. Which one do you prefer? I did get the MK IV 1/72 scale from Emhar and like it alot.
I've been loitering on Landships for the last couple of months and thought I'd try a basic card model of a tank. Purpose of this post is hopefully to motivate someone else like me, to make a model too. There certainly are some stunning models to be seen on here, but the high quality stuff can make attempti...
Here's my take on a captured Mk. IV in German service. I wanted to 'germanize' it as much as possible, so I replaced the bow machine gun with a Tank Gewehr and added a top hatch to the driver's cab. I also replaced the unditching beams and the luggage storage area (?) to the top aft of the tank, as well as addi...
Hello all, I have been asked to write a short article on Woosung Forts in Shanghai, but I have very little knowledge of late 19th century coastal guns. In order not to make too many mistakes I would like to buy one or two books on coastal guns of this period. I need a book that is comprehensive and covers gun...
I just saw this movie today and it is really good. The W.W. I scenes are very authentic looking as well as the uniforms. If you have not seen it it is worth watching.
Nice pictures but I noticed there were none of the back of the tank.? Were none taken or did they somehow get lost?? I wanted one so I could build the rear of my Mark III correctly. Unfortunately the museum covered the top of the tank so I couldn't see the baffles.
I know "not the right period" But still a tank for rivet lovers! I finished the master just in time so that Jan Giesbers could have the first castings ready ?before Christmas. Would have like to have crisper detail on the enginedeck, I will pay more attention to this on my next model.? I am lea...
The two attached images last night are of "hundetrains" and are something I'd never seen before.? Does anyone have any details . . . they'd make nice models.? The first is from http://www.heeresgeschichten.at/, a most interesting site; unfortunately, I neglected to write down the sou...

As discussed here A longer clip from Trench Detectives has been posted on Youtube. It certainly demonstrates that the idea could work, but does it establish that it was used? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zxdNlVABH8
Does any member know where I can find a Caquot balloon kit from RosePlane in 1/72 scale? I have been searching for this vacuform kit?since RosePlane went under?and have had no luck.
I find that it takes quite an effort to convince myself which is the front and which is the rear of the Mk D. It looks as if they should be the other way round. Does anyone have any idea why it was the stern that was upswept (rather like the prow of the rhomboids)?
Hi, I am planning to build a small WWI Light Railways diorama. The scale of the diorama will be 1:76 and I will use the figures made by W^D Models.?Here are my first figures ... they are part of "WD15 ? French Infantry - standing" by W^D models. Cheers, Jeroen -- Edited by Poilu on Sunday 11th of...
Hi All, I finally got around to building something for myself... the Emhar Mk.IV. I'm sure everone here knows what a nice little kit it is but spoilt by the incorrect 90 degree backed sponsons. To be honest it's not that hard to fix and seeing as I have three other Mk.IV's waiting their turn it made sense t...
He is worth a google. Closer to Wells than to Jules Verne, apparently. Wrote La Guerre au vingti?me si?cle in 1887, and La Guerre Infernale in 1908.Example of his Landships below: ?
