Without mentioning any names: I had a conversation with a retailer at the weekend. Pocketbond are indeed the distributors for Pegasus, and they own the moulds of a number of other producers (Imex and a few others). The retailer in question expressed considerable exasperation at Pocketbond's cust...
Thr title refers to the title of a Channel 7 segment about the recently found trove of some 3,000 glass-plate negatives recovered from a French barn and (apparently) featuring many Australian troops.? But also British, Canadian, Indian - and cars, ambulances and motor bikes. But no tanks. Three ga...
Does anyone know how accurate the male and female sponsons are on the MKIV kits in 1:35 scale. I know on the male the rear is at 90 degrees and should be angled, but other than that? I've no idea on the female so be interested to know how that rates. Cheers

In my searches I've uncovered the one time existance of two more American 'tanks'. The first of these is something called the Hamilton Tank (or the Victoria Tank). The only photo I can find shows this at a 1918 victory parade draped in an enormous stars and stripes that covers most of the detail. It has t...
Most probably old news but just found that?JUWA from Germany?do a 1/16 scale A7V tank (shame they don't do a 1/16th scale British tank as well) not suitable for RC. My question is could it be converted to RC using similar scratch built running gear etc? Has any one had one of these models.
Okay, pardon me if this is a dumb question... I was at Bovingdon last week, looking at their MkVI which had one of what I assumed were the pistol ports open. My 11 year old asked what it was, and I said it was a pistol port from which one might engage the enemy at close range with one's sidearm. "Err&quo...

?hello, I have some nice Ceasar german infantry and looking forward, if I still can , to painting them , I would like to depict a stormtroop attack in early 1918 against two machine gun positions( Hat british heavy weapons set) and I am wondering how to place the figures, i.e do I put grenade throwers at t...
Just found a guy with excellent copies of the original handbooks. The Holt 120 is US$60.00 plus freight. Address: Wayne Austin Email? waustin@q.com. Drawings and photographs make these an excellent modelling reference.
?hello again. I understand that stormtroops wore trousers other than the feldgrau type, corduroy I understand?, what colours were they and was there a variety of colours of legwear worn by the stormtroops?. I already have the Osprey book, but I have developed something of an insatiable appetite (a...
Amongst others, I've just released a new set of decals: German Freikorps 1919. Here's a picture of the scan. Just in case anyone would like to have it, it can be ordered through www.blackliondecals.nl. All the best, Michel.
This is an experiment. Scans of the above. Eleven poses, four of each, plus one officer only. Good for trench raids, with 3 using club/grenade/entrenching tool, plus one with what looks like a kukri and multi grenades. One seems to be walking while reloading. Running figure is better done than most....

Hello This is my first posting, so I thought I'd start with a question. I have bought Hecker & Goros' Austrian Artillery Officer (1917) and wondered what the sidearm is that he's carrying.? It has a long holster?with what appears to be a magazine pouch attached to the rear. It doesn't affect how I p...
. . . on French Tanks. I have to say that this is, unfortunately, not a triumph. No new photos, which is fair enough, except for one very nice one of the FCM 1A that I hadn't seen before. Some of the chronology seems a bit wobbly, but I shall check that further. He describes the Schneider Crocodile and the Au...
Hello everyone, I have an interesting question to put our artillery experts today: If Big Bertha was built to give the Germans the firepower of a 30.5cm, yet have better mobility over the latter, why was it transported in 5 loads? this kind of defeats the purpose of better mobility, doesn't it? Anyway...
According to Armorama, Tankograd are bringing out not one, but two books/booklets about Germany's captured tanks. My initial reaction was to start to go back to sleep. But maybe this could be good; if, as one of the posters on Armorama says, Trumpeter or Dragon get the idea that Germany used more of th...
