?hello again. I understand that stormtroops wore trousers other than the feldgrau type, corduroy I understand?, what colours were they and was there a variety of colours of legwear worn by the stormtroops?. I already have the Osprey book, but I have developed something of an insatiable appetite (a...
Amongst others, I've just released a new set of decals: German Freikorps 1919. Here's a picture of the scan. Just in case anyone would like to have it, it can be ordered through www.blackliondecals.nl. All the best, Michel.
This is an experiment. Scans of the above. Eleven poses, four of each, plus one officer only. Good for trench raids, with 3 using club/grenade/entrenching tool, plus one with what looks like a kukri and multi grenades. One seems to be walking while reloading. Running figure is better done than most....

Hello This is my first posting, so I thought I'd start with a question. I have bought Hecker & Goros' Austrian Artillery Officer (1917) and wondered what the sidearm is that he's carrying.? It has a long holster?with what appears to be a magazine pouch attached to the rear. It doesn't affect how I p...
. . . on French Tanks. I have to say that this is, unfortunately, not a triumph. No new photos, which is fair enough, except for one very nice one of the FCM 1A that I hadn't seen before. Some of the chronology seems a bit wobbly, but I shall check that further. He describes the Schneider Crocodile and the Au...
Hello everyone, I have an interesting question to put our artillery experts today: If Big Bertha was built to give the Germans the firepower of a 30.5cm, yet have better mobility over the latter, why was it transported in 5 loads? this kind of defeats the purpose of better mobility, doesn't it? Anyway...
According to Armorama, Tankograd are bringing out not one, but two books/booklets about Germany's captured tanks. My initial reaction was to start to go back to sleep. But maybe this could be good; if, as one of the posters on Armorama says, Trumpeter or Dragon get the idea that Germany used more of th...
Companeros, Im fairly new, in terms of posts, to the board and WWI armor. A few years ago I began a project to build?a R/C 1/6 scale MARK IV. Before taking on this challenge, i decided to build?a cardboard mock-up. While not perfect, it served as a great picture?prop.?Years have passsed and im now ready...
Are they any good at all?? The tanks aren't too great and need modification, but that's all there is, and fortunately there are enough reference books and pictures to make corrections.? But what about the howitzers?
Resicast have a new release, a 4.5 inch Howitzer & limber, and they will also be releasing the 18pdr & limber. They are the WW2 versions but I asked and had confirmation that sets to backdate to WW1 versions will be released but there is no definate timescale involved (shame) Paul
Hello, my name is Alexandru Bucur, and I've recently illustrated a book on the Skoda built siege guns in the collection of the Military Museum of Bucharest. I am a long time follower (if first time poster) of this site and forum and made extensive use of the information contained within during my resea...
I have finished the painting stage and I will do the pigments next. Since this is an experiment in techniques so I did not add a complete set of markings. The Archer Surface Details worked great but I should have used the larger ones. The Sharpie marker worked very well on the heart and the demarcation li...
William Strait of Wisconsin, its a curious thing that most relativly succesfull tractor designs came from the USA and all were originally intended for Agriculture... here are a number of designs by Strait who but for an unlikely venture by some his customers into armoured vehicles would probarbly...

Hi all, this grenade launcher, has any one more information about the 'weapon'? As it looks quite sophisticated, or at least made by a skilled carpenter, I assume it is not a Do It Yourself product made by inventive soldiers. regards, Kieffer
