The closest gun I can find in Kosar to match this photo of a Matrosen Artillerie crew is the schwere Kanone 12cm M82.? Kosar says though that this gun was employed by Switzerland.? Did a few still find their way to the Navy?? A similar gun but with a different name? ?
The 152mm Schneider howitzers m1915 and m1917 were very modern guns for their day. What is often overlooked is the fact the Russians used very similar guns from the very beginning of WW1. I have become interested in the 152mm howitzer model 1909. There is some info about it in its updated 1909/30 versi...
Hard to know what category to put this in. The picture below is Albert Robida's depiction of the revolution of 1953, as he imagined it in 1883. The object in the bottom right of the picture looks familiar.
This can be read online to a great extent here I can't speak for the veracity of the stuff about American vehicles in general, but there is a nice pic of a Holt 5 ton Artillery Tractor. After that it's rather downhill. Chapter VI is where we get into Tanks and so on. I would advise extreme caution when readi...
When I sent an email to Masterbox regarding future plans for a 1/35th scale Mark I ... here's the reply. Dear Mr. Brunner, We have intentions to release such tank. Firstly, we will see how sales in 1/72 scale will go and then we will take a decision. Yours faithfully, Mary, Sales Manager mb_ltd@ukr....
I think I remember seeing a diagram showing the layout of the rollers on a Mk IV tank as a mix of light and heavy. I have drawing for the light roller in the Bovington Mk IV plans, but not the heavy rollers. Does anybody know what the differences are or have drawings of the heavy rollers they could share with...
This is an interesting photo showing the gun park (Geschutz Park) of the Kgl. Bayer. 1. Fu?artillerie-Regiment.? The reverse of the photo is written, "Geschutz Park auf dem Lagerfeld Juni 83 Ib Fuss Art Regt" = "Gun Park on the training area June 83 1.Bayer Fu?artillerie-Regiment...
In this occasionally interesting but, as is customary, error-strewn doco, there's a strange moment after 18'00". "The American forces, which had begun arriving in France in summer 1917, soon replaced their French helmets with the British version," says the narrator (who appea...
Hello everyone I'm new to the forum and I haven't built a model kit since I was 15 years old and that was 30 years? ago!! Since I have an interest in World War I, I've decided to build some WWI models which brings me to the question of which kit, that is currently available, is the best Renault FT-17 Tank in AE...
Good morning, gentlemen.? I've been lurking for a very long time on Landships and enjoy reading and learning from your expertise.? I've always felt comfortable ID'ing World War I guns using this site, Kosar and Jaeger; however, my eyes are getting older and I'm doubting what I see in this photo.? So,...

Apart from a few tanks and a couple of small Fords there are not many kits for those wanting to model WW1? in 1/35 scale. I normally search using 'WW1' but just tried 'WWI' on ebay and found a few more kits, sadly out of my price range. The French Schneider tank can be found in USA as a resin kit, as can the USA v...
Hi, Not really spectacular but I find it a nice picture. Explanation says it is in 1914 in Rib?mont. Strategical gauge (suppose that means narrow gauge), garded by French engineer troups. DJ
What do you think...? Is this a captured Canon de 155 L Mod?le 1877 in service with the German Fuss-Artillerie?? Back of photo is dated 23 July 1915, possibly at an exercise area near Lille.
