Mk1 Female Tank? His Majesty's landship "we're all in it". of A Coy, Heavy section, Machine Gun Corps, 1915-17.? Hi does anyone have info history on this tank please. My Grandfather was a gunner in it in WW1, it's number was 13A. I'm after the tank's personnal history, operational service...
i.e. the ones pulled behind Tanks to gather up wire. I'm told that they rotated so as to twist the wire into a sort of cable. Is that correct? If so, were they powered somehow or was it just a natural result of the phsics involved? Any idea of the dimensions? Anyone got a photo?

A recent addition to my collection and thanks to Tony at Kaiser's Bunker, I can provide some background as to who he was and what he did. Kanonier Benedikt Jost from Bavarian Artillerie messtrupp 28, December 1915, Fussartillerie-Batterie Nr. 123, 123. Infanterie-Division. Tony provided me with...
We've sort of discussed this matter before, but not, I think, this particular aspect. Apologies if so. David Fletcher describes Mk I 742 as having an "apparently misspelt Russian inscription 'With Care to Petrograd.'" I've tried with Google translate but keep getting confusing resul...
The World's Great Tanks by Roger Ford, pub. 1999. First chapter is on 1914-18. Covers most of the salient events and includes rhomboids, Whippet, Schneider, Saint-Chamond, FT, and the A7V, of course. Historically reasonably OK, but some details shaky. Illustrations not bad, but Mr. Ford's "...
Has anyone any ideas as to what colour the interior of British A/C's were. Specifically the Lanchester but I presume it would have been the same as the Rolls. If anyone has the Roden kit is there anything in thier instructions on what colour the interior was painted.
Don't think we've had this before. Sledges were manufactured by the French and supplied to all units - Schneider, Saint-Chamond, and Renault. They carried either fuel, ammunition, or a mixed load of fuel, ammo, rations, and water, plus tools and so on for maintenance. They put a great strain on the T...
Two pics of sledges being towed, one by a standard MkIV and one by a Tadpole. The towing point appears to be at or above the level of the unditching beam. One assumes that the idea was to prevent the cables from fouling the rear horns during turns. But they seem to be attached to some sort of structure on the...
Hi, I'm trying to figure out what type of vehicle this is for a friend. Her family is of German descent and would love to know. The picture is ripped and there is no writing on it either. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
I have one side cemented and the other is loose since I need to fill a gap on the glasis plate. I added the head lights and I now need to add? lifting hooks and the tow pintles. There are some small details left to add but I am slowly but surely getting there. I will be glad when all the small details are finally...
Be aware that the German 15cm lg.s.F.H. 1913/02 ?photo listed on this French online auction is both incorrectly listed as an original photo and is stolen from the Lovett Artillery web site.? The photo is of Leon and Ralph Lovett with our restored 15cm taken back in the 1990s not the 1910s:http://www....
Hi This has perhaps been covered already here, but I'll ask anyway. Is it possible to buy a? separate 1/72 scale Lewis Gun for a DH2 I'm doing?? The one that came with the Revell kit is rubbish so I'm looking for a good one.? Also: any tips on doing the wires?? First time for me. Thanks (I can't paint figures...
Hi people! I just realize I spend almost one year without any model and I try to cure this problem with a new project : the Renault D1. The tank is very interesting as it links the ?FT17 ancestor with the WW2 generation and the new french company "Blitz" (http://blitz-kit.com) just release i...
Dear all, ? just added this picture to my collection. At first sight I thought it is a drawing. Because of this" strange light" and the shadows. But it seems to be a maneuver in the dark. ? Is this picture known before? Hope you like it. ? Regards Chris
Okay, I got my tank questions answered and the statue one, and I decided to have the tank go through a town square.? Question is, I wanted to have the town at least partially intact.? Or would that be realistic?? Also, I figured on having the town hall as part of the square to go with the statue.? Would it or...
Hi everybody, this picture of a French mortar team: I find the mechanics on the mortar intriguing, especially the spring. Can any one identify the weapon? The poilus are neatly dressed, no mud smears at all. One of these 'action' pictures made for the audience at home I guess but giving a lot of details...
Hello I'm wondering if I could tap into the collective expertise of this forum. The is a picture taken around Es Salt in 1918 purporting to be an armoured car captured by the Germans of the Asien Corps. On the side door is the following description: D Battery Just behind the wheel housing is the serial nu...
