I have been searching for information on the WW1 Vickers MG and have been looking for info on the MK 1 and her offspring when I stumbled onto your site/forum. That was a day and a half ago. I have been roaming around here since. Not lost, just admiring the work that I have seen. Excellant work and research o...
Hi everyone. I've just started building World War One kits after I got the Roden Rolls Royce Armoured car. This was something I've been after in a decent size in kit form for a very long time. My friend was building a trio of PanzerShop kits, the Gun tractor really took my fancy and seeing those built up wh...
I'm trying to figure out where the A7V's drive sprocket grips the track, (pity me, I don't have access to Whitmore or Hundleby & Strasheim nor do I have the AU$300plus needed to purchase them).? I've looked over several photographs and diagrams and the only conclusion I could come to was that the l...
Having inspected many plans of the A7V I am not completly sure of the width of the Track link. If anyone has a heads up, I would be interested to know. Regards Ian:O)
Pictures of a Mark V in what looks like camoflaged defensive firing position surfaced on ebay.de recently with a caption that suggests the vehicle was a captured Estonian vehicle used by Red Army during in the summer of 1941. The two images from the auction can be found here: http://forum.axishisto...

Hi you lot. I recently stumbled upon an old?PC game that is set in The Great War. While most of the game models are historically accurate, there are some British Army vehicles that I can't clearly identify, due to poor game graphics and because they are just labelled as "GBMedicCar", "...
Was this gun called the QF 2-pdr Mark II? I mean the one used by the RMA in WW1. And I am looking for a couple of good pictures of one to use in article; can anyone help?
Well I am starting to finally finish the Mk II supply tank and I was wondering if anybody knew the dimensions for boxes or rather crates for Mills bombs and ammo. Either cartridge or 6 pounder would help. From what I have read these supply tanks carried a great deal of stores in and on top of the tank so I wou...
I was doing some research for a friend on Col-Gen Hoth and was surprised to see that he had been awarded the panzer badge in WWI. Does anybody have any info on the award and the criteria for its award during WWI? Tony
Hello again, you've all been very helpful to me since I got here. But here' why I'm here: I have a large array of figures, artillery, and cavalry so far, and just this week my first Tanks (A pair of Emhar A7V's) Im working with Smallscale Reversico, Scalelink, and whoever bought Fine scale Factory for th...
Came across this. Just outside Liege, the fort was amongst those destroyed by the Germans in Aug 1914. The Museum has some fantastic displays, including many uniforms, notably those of the somewhat neglected Fortress Artillery, and lots of other good stuff. http://www.fortdeloncin.com/index...
In the recently published German Panzers 1914-18 by Steven J. Zaloga illustrated by Brian Delf there is a small photograph of a A7V Schutzengrabenbagger trench digger. Does anyone have more information on this use of the A7V?
Did the British have any similar devices?

Hello new to the site, was wondering has anybody given any thought to modeling a few of the scenes described in Harry Turtledoves "Great war " series, in which the Unitied states allied with the germans square off aginst the Confederate states, britian and france. The author is very descr...
More details on this musical item are now available. "The Tanko" was a song-and-dance routine staged at a London theatre, purportedly celebrating the Tank. One assumes the title was a pun on 'Tango'. It was risqu? by the standards of the time, and the chorus girls seem to have represented...
I have only just noticed this. Sorry of old news. Circled on the photo is what appears to be an MG port. This seems to bear out Schneider and Strasheim's drawing that shows an MG fitted there.
Just reading jager's book and other sources its clear that many heavy artillery like the 13cm, 15cm and 17cm naval guns were used by germans to compensate for long-range artillery but none of these sources [ which are all in english for me sadly] give any numbers e.g how many guns were by 1914 or end of 19...
Does anybody know anything about Seabrook. I know of the ones that were armoured up for the RNAS, but what about the actual company. Does anybody have any information?about them? Many thanks Tim
