This gun is in the Army Museum Zizkov in Prague. It has been claimed it is an Austro-Hungarian 15cm Haubitze M.99/4 but it isn't one of those. I don't recognise it but it does seem to have recoil and recuperator cylinders which would place it around 1900 or so. Anyone know? Regards, Charlie

Image caption said it was operated along the coast of Essex. Strange paint scheme - I'll leave it up to the denizens of the forum to make of it what you will. Charlie
I’ve posted in ‘TANKS’ but realised that this might be more appropriate. It seems that it has been nearly 9 years since I was enthusiastically creating grenade canopies, improved steering tails etc, etc for Airfix and Masterbox Mk 1s. I have recently revisited the Airfix model to see what can be do...
I am having a brain fade. A few days ago I found a drawing for the Hydraulic unit on the back of a Mk 1 tank. Today I thought I would have a go at designing a 1:76 replacement for the Airfix model - can I find that drawing now? .... No. I thought Helen had posted it but if that is the case - it isn't in her Mk 1 refe...
Copper State Models has announced a Romfell Panzerwagen in 1/35 scale as the follow-up to their Lanchester. I read this on Armorama and thought I would share this. Had trouble logging in but I normally post as Paul Bonnett
Hello everyone, I go by IronPeregrine in most online spaces, and have as of the last couple weeks have found this wonderful forum and am now making my first post with this one (Almost accidentally posted to the general Tanks page by mistake). I have been researching the tanks of WW1 to make a game to play...
Hi everyone. I am trying to doa bit of "tankspotting" with regards to the St Chamond. If anyone has any books with photos of the St Chamond, could you blow the dust off them please? What I need, if the photos are clear enough, is the chassis number of the of the tank, and what batch it is. And my eyes aren;t wa...

Dannevoux. January 31, 1919 ) near Verdun( This Howitzer is of 38 cm caliber and was manufactured in Pilsen, Austria in 1917. It was captured September 26 by the 319th Infantry 80th Division. In destroying the gun before leaving the recoil was unfastened and a charge exploded which threw the base cap...
Came across the attached image - the inscription says the A7V was displayed on the Esplanade des Invalides (runs from the Hotel des Invalides to the south bank of the Seine). There's lots of photo evidence that the A7V "Elfriede" was displayed at the Place de la Concorde - the armour had already been...
Recently switched to using Yandex as my search engine - now I get lots of interesting Russian search results Russian modelling company with lots of artillery model subjects that I haven't seen before - (I'm probably wrong but what do I know about plastic models) https://www.combrig-models.com/...
Amazing what a decent search engine will dredge up - the attached is an artillery piece which the caption said was captured at Cambrai in Nov 1917. The caption says Krupp 21cm M1891 but I don't think so - opinions please? Charlie
So I have been working on this project for a couple of months, I just wanted to post some project photos so far. I started this project because I have always been interested in how a WW1 tank functioned and operated.
On Landships II there is an article on a artillery portee vehicle built by Renault during WW1 which is called "Renault FB" I note that in GBM 137 in an article on the RALTs the same vehicle is called "Renault FP" - bottom of Page 24, GBM 137. So which is correct? I don't mind changing the Landships II arti...
The 15cm was an Austro-Hungarian howitzer designed in the early 1890s. It went through a number of upgrades but didn't improve over the original mediocre performance. However, due to a lack of anything else suitable it saw service in the early years of WW1 until replaced by the very capable Skoda 15...
Our friends at The Weald Foundation are looking for contemporary film of the TSF in use. At the mo, they have only a very short clip. Anyone know of any more?
