While browsing in a used bookshop recently, I came across an interesting title "Die Deutschen Freikorps 1918 - 1923", by F.W. Oertzen (F. Bruckman Verlag, 1936). I couldn't afford the book, but I did persuade the proprietor to let me copy this interesting photo from the book. The caption...
Hi thought I would start a new thread about these Australian Dummy Tanks... "used successfully by the 4th Australian Division in the attack on Le Vergieur in September 1918." Apparantly ten were built each supported by huge wheels and manned by six crew, were able to easily move the quart...
Hi, I need a hi-res scan or a photographic print of a MkIV (or MkV) tank. This is to illustrate the cover of an upcoming booklet on tanks in WWI in Canadian service (www.servicepub.com/weapons.htm) I have prints of the example at Aberdeen but would prefer to use the tank at the Belgian Army Museum. LLo-...

Hi ?? I've at last got hold of an Airfix Mk1(through Ebay)and although I prefer the larger scales I thought it would be nice to revisit a modell that came in a plastic bag the first time round. I have not got round to buliding a vast reference library yet, so would like to know if I can improve the kit to depic...
I've issued some new sets of decals in 1/35 and suppose that some readers of this forum would be interested in the Latvian Army set, covering a.o. the Putilov Garford, Fiat 3000 and Mk-V hermaphrodite. It can be ordered through my website, www.blackliondecals.nl. all the best, Michel.
My Great-uncle Arthur was taken prisoner near St. Quentin. I know he was only one of millions whose lives were affected by the Great War, and many had far worse experiences than he did, but I could never quite understand how such a kindly old man had seen such terrible things at such a young age and gone on...
?I have added a section to my www.lovettartillery.com web site for WW1 German Artillery Sights, Aiming Circles, Forward Observer Scopes, Binoculars, Range Finders, Aiming Stakes, Artillery Driver Saddles, Harnesses,?Bridles?and other related equipment: http://lovettartillery.com/Ge...
Horse-drawn pigeon loft of the Royal Engineers Signal Corps, 1915. Can't tell the location from the background, but presumably in France/Belgium. Colour scheme appears to be the same as that on some of the bus ones. One theory is that it helped the pigeons to recognise it.
Along with my Latil TAR, I've built a 155GPF from Azimut and as I'm waiting for white ink to finish my Tiznaos, I've done some painting experiences on the gun. The kit itself is really fine, parts are well finished and the model is easy to built except for the towing trolley [img]http://www.colleurs-d...
As I was unpacking my WWI equipment now i'm back in London, thought i'd photograph it to show how my impression is getting along - as it stands now, I have everything I need, except for my SD trousers and tunic, and the greyback shirt. I have RN deck boots but currently awaiting a pair of Lennon B5 boots, so...

One? great thing of this forum is the response I have found from the colleagues . I dedicate to Roger Todd and Mr. Dakk from Axis History Foum the modest result of my effort, since they helped me a lot. It depicts a 38cm Skoda about to be changed from steam-driven transportation to Electric-Zug mode. All...
French World War I Veteran Cazenave Dies World War I veteran Louis de Cazenave died Sunday at age 110, his son said, leaving just one known French survivor of the 1914-1918 conflict. Hi all, i'm trying to find some photos of the Ford Model T, or TT (long wheelbase one ton truck version) in service on the western front, ideally in British service. To be ultra specific, i'm looking for photos of the 1917 onwards version, but any others would be nice, as the majority i've seen are in the m...
Was at the Museum of Transport in Glasgow?a while back?and among the other WWI exhibits was this very nice French built Schneider staff car used by either the British or French army (the caption just said 'Army' so not sure which one!) in WWI, 1915 built I think. Fantastic body work on it in great condit...

This is from Airfix's site, describing the WWI American Infantry: These are the Doughboys that arrived in France and took part in the last great battles of the First World War. Their equipment includes light machine guns and a remote-controlled rifle. A remote-controlled rifle? Which one would th...
What ho chaps, Mililtary Modelcraft International (Feb 2008) has an article by Domi Jadoul of Retrokits fame, using 3-D fabric paint to make rivets. Can't wait to get started;I never thought I'd get excited by the thought of making scale rivets! TTFN, Marcus
An acquaintance, who serves as the commander of a US field artillery battalion, in Iraq has recently contacted me with photos of several pieces his unit has acquired.? I have identified the pieces as the French manufactured 75mm 1907 A.? I believe the manufacturer is St. Chamond and the emails from I...
Hi! I hope it will not be too modern on landship... Waiting for missing parts on my WW1 prime mover, I go to another of my favourite subjects, the tiznaos, or the home made armoured trucks of the Spanish civil war : I convert this one from a Ford AA (Toko GAZ in fact) to depict a very?crude design from the ver...
