Hello, There are some curious screws on a cradle of some ww1 guns (see attachment). I am interested in their function. I found these screws on austrian mortars only (305m M11, M16 and 420mm M17). There have been some differences in of their number (see pictures of 305mm mortar M11). It was a spec...
I found on the net some photos of the WWI stuff from Warsaw Polish Army Museum.
several guns, in the bacgsound is the barrell of the Russian heavy siege howitzer (link to the photo of the whole gun was posted on thins forum some time ago...
I am certainly no expert on softskins, and this one really got me stumped.
It's an american GMC truck, that's for sure, from the Great War Era (one suggestion on the Museum sign said "1918", but that is probably the year of purchase).
Knut Erik Hagen of Norway has s...
Some of HaT's recent figures are soft plastic, like polyethylene, but can be stuck with polystyrene cement. Anyone know what this stuff is?
Now I'm told that Loctite have brought out a glue which bonds standard polyethylene. I'd be intersted to know if anyone can report on its effectiveness.
There doesn't seem to have been any publicity about it but the Fine Scale Factory Opel is available.
I've just received one and it appears to be excellent - nicely detailed resin and white metal. It looks very promising.
The only disappointment is the instructions; pretty crudely photocopied,...
Now that I too have learned how to post pictures (thanks Vilkata!) I can't withhold you the sight of these two Interior Views, that were sent to me a long time ago, by who I can't remember, and the source was never given: obviously from some book. Anyone knows where they were publ...

I recently found some nice artillery images on eBay that I can't find a reference for. The gun shown seems to have a carriage identical to the French 280mm Mortier M1914/16 by Schneider, but it looks like a "canon" with a longer more slender barrel. Can anyone shed some light?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there are any 1:72 scale french mortars? I was thinking the mortar from Hat's russian heavy weapons set (the 58mm FR mortar), however I do not know much about this subject? Thanks!

Hello, I'm planning to build a MGM Ehrhardt in Polish service. I found two vague photo's of it in Polish books, showing an inscription on the side: Pulkownik Kazimierz Grudzielski. I couldn't figure out the exact colour of the vehicle; a drawing in one of the books shows the vehicle in light grey, but o...
Hello Everyone
I have just come in to possession of two rare pictures, I was told they may be the elusive Krupp Armoured Limber?? of 1918. I am not sure, some of the uniforms look German, but others seem different. Any idea??????????

With the slow demise of the Belgian branch of Tracks & Troops the main source (at least for me and my compatriots ) of the superb Italian kits of Mr Panzer and Il Principe Nero has closed down. (But hopefully Milan Vins new upgraded Tracks & Troops will soon be operational.)
But now I just want...

Hi all
I ordered a pair of Mark IV Females (1/72) and was working around a diorama idea in my head. I was thinking of showing a pair of Beutepanzers advancing in conjunction with infantry. Couple of questions:
1. Are there any pictures of this or descriptions of how they were used by the Germans tact...
Dear Sir,
I've recently shifted my modeling interests into WW1 artillery and armor, and, due to that, found out your fantastic site, wich has been a tremendous source of ideas and references for me.
A few months ago, a friend of mine gave me 2 MGM kits, the Austro Daimler artillery tractor, plus...
Well, as you know from the French rail road guns thread, I recently acquired a copy of John Batchelor & Ian Hogg's excellent (out of print) 'Rail Guns'. It covers only America, France, Britain and Germany, so no Italian or Russian artillery I'm afraid! However, those four nations were the main pr...
Tracks'n'Troops have a list of WW1 figures by MGM, including 2 German Tank Crews and a Communications Team, but there are no pictures of them on the site. Does anyone have any pics?
This is excellent website about Austro-Hungarian Army, especially artillery, unfortunetely in Ukrainian (yes, the letters are Russian-like) but here is table of the guns with calibers with links to the particular articles. Site is full of photos!
