Howdy All,
Just came across this posting over at another site I visit, and I just knew[url=http://armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewtopic&topic_id=68835&page=1]Armorama.com
Hello Guys
While looking through the book I mentioned on the "Marshall" post, "Motor Transports in War? I ran across some really great pictures of some British and German Lorries used in the early part of the war. I thought I would share them.
The Maudslay ,Daimler ,Nag photos are...
Hi there,
I?ve been thinking of hanging some old pictures taken in the WWI era in my own website (www.diorama1914.com ). Those pics have been downloaded from other sites and also scanned from books of my private collection. I have observed that this is frequently done in many websites. If I also do t...
The recent investigations into 'The Perfect Lady' have led me to consider that some of the current asumptions about how one identifies a particular Mk may not hold true and the distinctions may have been blurred. This may be due to a number of reasons which could include:
The approach taken to confi...

Hello all!
Now the planning for my first trench/tank warfare diorama and the drawings are done. I've built the wooden "A-Frames" and the "Duck Bill Boards" so far. Next week I'll start to glue together these wooden parts for a traversed trench.
There remain several questions:

No not the latest WBF heavyweight contest but some of the story of tank armament. I've but a first pass in the form of a MS Word document (this allows me to include some drawings in the text). I know I don't need to ask for comments they'll come unbidden.
Howdy All,
Once again I am taking the opportunity to plumb the expertise here at Landships, by asking about scratchbuilding WWI vehicle tracks.
I know I may be taking the risk of conjuring up past headaches for some of you, but I was hoping for some suggestions...
Compared to WWII t...
Now that Ehar and HaT have introduced easily glued plastics, I wonder if anyone shares my thought that manufacturers could produce sets of figures with interchangeable limbs and even torsos?
Emhar's kneeling rifleman in the US infantry set has a separate right arm for moulding purposes, but&nb...
Hello!
I'm still planning several trench dioramas both in 1/35 and 1/72 scale. Many photographs suggest that there were small dugouts and shelters (timbered and corrugated iron shelters) for only a few men in the fire trenches. Often a closer examination of the photograph d...
Hi ,
I've just done a quick sketch of a "spud" and attached it . The arrow at A indicates a raised edge which provides the traction. I beleive they were attached every 3,5 or 7th link depending on ground conditions.

*Just to bring it up again* *make it sticky *
okay so heres my project, its the Mk.V 9004, and obscure early tank that broke down and never got to fight in WWI, but was shipped off (after it was fixed) to Russia as part of the intervention forces, the reason I picked this project was that the tank...

Hi all,
I?m planning my next diorama and want to include an "Albrecht" mortar (you know, the famous mortar with a barrel made of wood). I have to scrachtbuild it, so I need all kind of info: plans, pics, technical data (firing mechanism, calibre, etc.). Can you give me any help?

Can anyone provide me with details of the colour paint used on Australian vehicles in Palestine 1917. Or where I might be able to find such info.
TIA Paul
Michel Boer and I are considering doing a special 1/72 decal sheet (Landships Decals) for the Mk IV's captured and used - as Beutepanzer IV - by the German Army during and after WW1. And yes, if it works out, we will probably do a 1/35 version as well. (Michel has just done a 1/35 version of the Russian Civi...
Peter recommended this book a while ago on this forum and while I was in London last weekend I spotted a few cheap (under ?10) copies in a bookshop on Charing Cross Road. It's a small shop mid-way between Foyles and Motorbooks (my usual itinerary) I think it's called Lovejoys. They have quite a good sele...
Hello everyone,
For the tank group build, I build a Mark II female. I choose to represent one from the Decalcomaniac decal sheet : C21 The perfect lady.
They state that there is a C21 at the rear, no problem, I saw at least one pictures.
2 other C21 at the front side as well as The perfect lady marki...
Hi
I'm doing some research on the German B.A.K.P. 20 in Charleroi, Belgium. Under the command of the B.A.K.P. 20 ( Bayerischer Armee-Kraftwagen-Park ; Bavarian Army-Motor-Park) special recovery units salvaged british tanks from the Western Front and brought them...
I've been trying to find more info about the Killen Strait tractors, in the course of which I've found various odds and sods on other early tracked tractors.
Sorry for starting off so many threads on non-tanks, but this is incredible, a working, 1/3 scale model of the Hornsby Steam Chain Track Tract...
With the exception of the Romfell, nearly all WWI armored cars were very boxy and primitive looking.
Check out this armored car then! I have no idea what it is, as I got it out of my little Russian WWI book.
Its very very streamlined, sleek, with great armor sloping over most of it, its definitel...
Some time ago in a thread discussing the parameters of the First World War I said that I'd try and list all those conflicts that sprang from the 'main event'. Well I finally got around to it and the first attempt is enclosed as a PDF document. I've tried to catagorise these as two types - those that were ini...
Hello everybody,
I am looking for a cross-section picture of recoil mechanism for french "75", but not schematic!!
I looked at many books, but I can?t find any detailed picture or photo (I found only schematic pictures). Therefore, I think, that the secret of "75" still continues. :confused...
Thought this may be of interest to alternative history/ sci-fi modellers. This site (http://www.currell.net/models/index.htm) has a model of a hypothetical design based on H. G. Wells' story The Land Ironclads. I haven't built this one yet, but I have built his models of the...
I found these shots on a German wargaming site.

They show wooden mockups of the A7V mounted on the basic chasis and tracks. Someone appears to be in the process of building a WW1 tank hi...
