It so happened that we had to pass through Norfolk last week, and, fortunately, on the way back we were able to make a detour to the Norfolk Tank Museum, home of the Mk IV replica Deborah II built in conjunction with JCB. http://norfolktankmuseum.co.uk/ It is most certainly out of the way - satnav send...

Off to Vaux-en-Amiénois again shortly, where further discussions about Mephisto will take place. I hope we'll be able to work out which photos were taken at Vaux and which at Poulainville. As far as I can tell, there are eight photos to identify. Anybody know if there are any more?
Hi! I eventually completed a MS1 mod 27 from Hobby Boss. A very good kit except awful road wheels that should be improved to look like the real thing... The model finished :
Every photograph of Whippets being driven depicts the rear fighting compartment door open and at least one man standing outside of it. You'd think that sooner or later they would have such figures to go with the Whippet models. They finally have driver figures for WW1 automobiles and trucks.
HelloI would like to introduce to you a new model company owned by my friend Luis Vargas VargasScaleModels.com “Bringing History to Life”. He produces highly detailed 1/35th scaled 3d printed and resin mortars and bunkers. (Catalogue attached). I will be doing an open box report and build repor...
Hello!! My name is Chris, and I'm here posting for the first time. I’ve been "lurking" around for a few months, soaking up all the fantastic info on Mk I’s while I build Takom’s 1/35 Mk I Female as A17 “Oh I Say!!!”. I chose that particular tank because I get to scratch build a bunch of extra goodies, like t...

Only a small, obsessive-compulsive point: It's customary to refer to the "Killen-Strait tractor," the vehicle that played a part in the early trials of tracked machines. There's a little bit more to it than that. The company was, apparently, originally the Killen-Walsh Manufacturing Company. T...
A thought regarding the mk I Wireless tank - the example exhibited to Queen Mary at Erin in July 1917 had a large opening on the port sponson, and I have seen scale models depicted that way. But that doesn't seem to make sense on an armoured vehicle - why go into battle with a large hole in the side? Could it...
I am looking to find out about WW1 photography for a diorama idea... I've seen / heard anecdotal evidence that a lot of British photographers were unofficial - soldiers with a vest pocket camera and a knack for using it. Did British Forces have official 'war photographers'..? Clearly there were offi...
Not many vehicles but interesting material on A-H uniforms, equipment, Regiments, etc. https://twitter.com/pikegrey1418?lang=en Scroll down to find this intriguing multipurpose body armour.
Have just received the above kit. Although expensive, the quality of the casting is outstanding. I know nothing about Italian artillery - what, if any, colour was it painted?
New Penguin illustrate this tank on their (1/72) decal sheet - I'm quite drawn to this as a modelling subject as a mk I in original grey finish with the Cyrllic inscription with gun sponsons fitted. The decal sheet references 'R Pullen materials' as the source, but I wondered if there is a published pho...
I know, it will be of no historical importance, nevertheless I like very much to get to th bottom of things. Here a well known photo - caption reads: "Tank Hedi auf Schlossplatz 11.5.1919 Carl Walter Kogel StA". So, as there is/was no "Schlossplatz" in Leipzig it was quite a bit challenging to find the b...
When I read about American World War One soldiers in the Osprey books, they mentioned how American soldiers would wear red armbands when carrying messages so they wouldn't be harassed by officers or military police. Of course, the red armbands made them a prime target for the enemy too. But when re...
I'm a journalist researching the involvement of British tanks in 1919 action at Tsaritsyn (later Stalingrad, now Volgograd), particularly a detachment of Mark Vs and Whippets commanded by Major Ewen Bruce. I'd be grateful for any information or guidance. Thank You

I recently finished this excellent kit from CMK. The resin casting is amazing. Some of the very fine detail was broken trying to remove from the casting blocks. I replaced them with brass wire or solder. I also replaced the warped resin carrying handles with Evergreen rod and brass wire.
